“존재의 자리 Sitz des Seins”
"아무리 소소하고 하찮은 존재일지라도 모든 존재에게는 그들만의 자리가 있어야겠지요.
너무 흔해서 그 존재조차 인식하지 못하던 것들이 하나 하나씩 자신들의 존재를 내게 알려올 때,
나는 그들에게 그들만의 자리를 마련해 줘야만 했습니다.”
When things too ordinary to notice started to give me a gentle nudge one by one,
I could not help but start trying to find a place for each of them,
because even the most trivial and littlest things need their own places.”
" '존재의 자리(Sitz des Seins)'에서 '자리'는 바로 '삶의 자리(Sitz im Leben)'입니다.
그것은 존재를 둘러싼 모든 유무형의 세계이며,시간이고,공간입니다.
모든 존재는 바로 그 '삶의 자리' 속에 녹아있고, 삶은 모든 존재들의 실존의 형식이지요.
그러므로 '존재의 자리'는 존재와 실존에 대한 끊임없는 의문과 사유를 드러냅니다."
“In 'Sitz des Seins’, 'Sitz' refers to ‘Sitz im Leben’ of each being
: all visible and invisible settings that surround every being.
All beings are bound up in their own ‘Sitz im Leben’,
and life is the very form of existence for every being.
This series of my works ‘Sitz des Seins’ reveal such reflections
that constantly kept haunting me regarding being and existence.”
